Word from Nairnshire

Laughter

On the day when news broke that some six billion U.S. dollars had been misused in China, a video describing the vibrant, but persecuted, Church in China arrived.

These Chinese Christians cannot stop tears of gratitude as they remember what Jesus Christ has done for them through the Cross, Resurrection, Ascension and Pentecost.

As they recall the marks of the nails in the body of Jesus, they cannot staunch deep words of praise from overflowing.

Doors that have been closed for so long are now open as they hear a strong voice of tenderness which has won their hearts.

Many walk on a painful path which appears to be battered by unceasing violent storms. The loving steadying hands of the living Christ keeps them from stumbling and falling.

Although their path is paved with pain and suffering, those who walk on it are filled with love and joy.

They pray for their land and for their government that the leaders would not misunderstand the true nature of the Christian Faith.

How many leaders throughout the world completely misunderstand the true nature of the Church of Jesus Christ? They have nothing to fear.

Joyful hymns of praise are sung from small villages to major cities.

Crowds came to farmers’ homes for Sunday Services until they had to find larger premises, or divide into two or three or ten different worshipping fellowships.

Thousands have come to genuine faith over these past years throughout a nation which frowns upon the Word of God.

A flame has been lit in their hearts. Nothing can stop it from burning.

These disciples serve those whose lives are filled with another kind of pain and bleak depressive darkness.

With tears and laughter, and songs and silence, they worship the living God.
