Word from Nairnshire

Many are crying and looking for something.

There are various reasons behind the tears. Some are crying openly and unashamedly, whilst others are crying in private.

Those who are looking for something may not even know what they are really seeking. That is all right.

The first recorded words of the risen Jesus on resurrection morning were, “Why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”

Jesus was speaking to a bewildered and broken hearted Mary. There is nothing wrong with being bewildered and broken hearted.

Jesus Christ is an expert in dealing with trauma and tragedy.

Mary was lingering at the open grave because Jesus had set her free from bad spirits and she was so grateful. Love loves to linger.

Jesus deals with Mary’s sadness, and immediately she does what He commanded.

Peter is confused and goes off on his own to think and try to work things out, and Jesus appeared to him.

Just how many are bewildered and confused?

Two men were so down hearted and disappointed that they decided to walk away from it all, and clear out of Jerusalem, and Jesus Christ met them and talked with them until they recognised who He was.

People still walk away when they are emotionally upset and disturbed, and that is seldom the right direction in which to go.

That night the disciples are afraid and they are meeting behind locked doors in case they were next to be taken out and crucified, and Jesus Christ came to reveal that He was alive, and to give them peace.

I am so glad that Jesus does not always stand at the door and knock.

Thomas was missing from the fellowship. You can miss a lot when you are missing.
