Word from Nairnshire
by Sandy Shaw
Protocol is a word we hear more and more of, and it appears to be used in various scenarios.
There is a particular protocol, in walking with God, over the years. It is not something that is achieved any old way we want.
When servants of God have understood what is involved, a rich and rewarding fellowship ensues.
Enoch was a man who walked with God and kept in the centre of His will. As he communed with Almighty God, the living God communed with him. Enoch knew only too well what would happen when his son died.
In the life of every man, who experienced that deep communion, there are certain obvious steps and stages.
Most had their past dealt with before anything substantial and meaningful took place. If we do not settle our past, it can sabotage our future. Prior to certain doors being opened, old issues have to be resolved.
Progress will be hampered if we are contaminated by sin.
Peter knew what it was to have his immediate past forgiven, before Jesus could use him for the purpose to which Peter had been called.
Walking with God can mean being willing to stand out from the crowd.
When Peter and John attempted to do what had never previously been done in the name of Jesus, they landed up in that Jerusalem jail.
One of Paul’s highest priorities was to please Jesus Christ, and that involved hardship, suffering and imprisonment, but he achieved so much. Paul was more interested in God’s approval than man’s.
When you know that God is walking with you, and leading you, and you are aware of your destination, the need to make excuses for why you are different disappears.
Have you been waiting a long time for this moment?
