Word from Nairnshire

Serious problems, which can appear insurmountable at first sight, occasionally confront us.

When we are in a hole all we can do at times is dig deeper and make things worse.

Isaiah saw the mountainous scenario facing the people of God as they were about to be brought back from modern day Iraq to Jerusalem, and to their own land.

It was Almighty God who told Isaiah to prepare the way for the return of the nation of Israel.

He was to be like a prophetic bulldozer, by flattening the bumps, and filling in the potholes.

The difficult dangerous desert tracks were to become like a spiritual motorway, along which the exiles would travel in comparative safety.

God can remove hurdles and obstacles to give us access to Him.

John the Baptist took up these very words as he prepared the way for the coming of Jesus Christ.

Everyone knew when those who had been held captive in Babylon for almost 70 years were released and set free.

Everyone knew when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, walked onto the world’s scene, but not everyone welcomed Him.

Everyone will know when Jesus returns to the Mount of Olives. There will be those who will rejoice and there will be those who will overflow with regret and remorse.

Before Jesus comes back, the situation will appear like a spiritually dry, barren wilderness, with many rebelling against God and His Word.

The circumstances for this next momentous cosmic event will be prepared as the road builders level the ground and remove the roughness from various rugged places.

Everyone will know about it whether or not they presently believe it is going to happen.

All mankind will see this, whether they want to or not.
