Word from Nairnshire

Might there be someone still looking for an inspirational theme or goal for 2011?

In what looks like being one of the hardest years for a long time, there are going to be resources required that may not have been experienced in the recent past.

There was a man called Isaiah who was going through a rough patch, along with his nation. God does not spare Isaiah from tasting something of what those around them are facing.

God poured His truth into this man. Isaiah was being filled and inspired, and words from God can flow through him to us.

This word is for those who have a desire to seek God in a new and special way. It is for those who want to find God and His love and mercy and strength, for whatever lies ahead.

God told Isaiah to tell the people to “Listen to Me”.

You would think that would be obvious, but very often the last thing people want to do is listen to God, or hear what Jesus Christ has to say.

We do not need to do very much at times to have a closer walk with God. We may just have to listen to Him.

God was speaking clearly and simply to the nation. “If you want a better life and if you want to know Me in a fuller deeper way, then at least have the sense to listen to what I have to say.”

The people in Isaiah’s day got themselves into terrible trouble because they would not listen to God, and they paid a high price for rebellion and resistance.

The parallel today is strikingly similar.

When crisis comes there is no one better to turn to than the One who is able to remedy what is wrong.
