She was quite contented just talking away to Jesus, even acknowledging that one day God would sort out all the mess, by sending the Messiah, and then at that point Jesus Christ revealed, “I who speak to you am he”.

This scenario began all so simply. Jesus rests by a well. A woman comes out to draw water. Jesus asks for a drink and suddenly she is faced with the reality of having a conversation with the Messiah, the Son of God.

The disciples return from having been to the local shop buying provisions, and they are quite surprised when they see Jesus talking with a strange woman in public.

They do not say anything. Perhaps they did not know how to respond.

The Samaritan woman hurries back to her village. The disciples notice that Jesus is no longer hungry.

When you are engaged and engrossed in the work of the Kingdom of God, certain physical needs become secondary.

Jesus explains that his food was to do the will of God who sent him. His food was to complete the work given to him by God his father.

He looks over the field and he sees the woman returning with the whole population from the village. They invite him to go and stay in the village, and of course, when he is with these villagers, Jesus talks and teaches, and because of his teaching many came to believe.

It all began by asking for a drink, and a woman giving her testimony.

When we testify, and speak, or write, about Jesus, something can start, and we never know where it will end.

Some will shrug it off. Others will be eager and keen to follow it up it, and we might never know.
