Word from Nairnshire

Unborn

When Peter arose and spoke on the Day of Pentecost around three thousand people were born again.

As they came to believe in Jesus Christ, Peter commanded them to turn to God in repentance, be baptised in water, and receive the Holy Spirit.

Peter had been explaining what the ascended Jesus had done as one hundred and twenty disciples were baptised in the Holy Spirit. He taught those listening of how wicked men had put Jesus to death, by nailing him to the cross, and on he went to proclaim how God raised Jesus to life. Many had witnessed this over these past seven weeks.

Peter had the wisdom and courage to warn these new believers to get out of the sin and corruption which abounded in that day. We are not the first generation to be bombarded with corruption, but we need to know that the answer and solution remains the same.

How did the leaders deal with these three thousand challenges? They grounded their newly found faith in four fundamentals areas, in order that they would become stable, reliable, dependable, and ultimately mature.

The apostles’ teaching, the importance of fellowship, partaking of the bread and wine, and prayer were the four essentials for spiritual growth and development, and they remain so.

There was a desire for the Word of God, and a love for the Word of God, from the beginning, with leaders who were able and anointed to teach.

Alas, we do not see that everywhere today, as the foundations quickly crumble, causing many to wonder just what is happening.

It must be acknowledged and recognised too, that you cannot teach the unborn, no matter how hard you try. That applies in the spiritual realm as well as in the physical.
