America And The Trojan Horse
Date Posted: December 31, 2017

There was, long ago - whether real or a story I do not know - a king who had tried to conquer this country (whether real or just a story I do not know) by every means at his disposal…without success. For years he had attacked from every angle, every power and war machine he could muster….always, without success. The territory he desired to conquer could not be subdued by any means in his arsenal, by any trickery he could devise. Except for one…

Eventually, someone (who I do not know) told him that he would never conquer that country. It was just too strong. However, his adviser suggested a plan of attack by which the king would never need to send his army against this country again. The solution was simple:

Attack from within that country with something they would just open the gates for, and let the conqueror in. This way, the country to be conquered could be conquered without either country firing an arrow. The solution? Just send a “gift” for which it would simply open the gate and let the conquering king’s forces in.

They constructed a huge “horse” as a gift. When inside, the horse would open and his army would spread out over the territory. The unconquerable is conquered.

And so, the well known story of the “Trojan Horse” was born.

This semi-fictitious story has been used to illustrate how to conquer an enemy without destroying that country’s resources that the conqueror can use.

The war was over before it started.

It seems that this method of conquering a nation is being used against America today. Possibly without any country realizing this method of warfare is being applied. A less spectacular use of the principle is to cause the country to decay from within. Perhaps the results of many “Trojan” horses implemented. In many ways, we are our own worst enemy.

Most would agree, America is being attacked. From within by moral decay, and from without by economic and financial manipulation, and in many other ways. Within our boundaries the most atrocious and mind boggling crimes and violence are occurring, the like which has never occurred within its borders. And, the horrors are accelerating, seemingly by the day.

Perhaps most of all, it is beginning to decay spiritually. There was a time…long ago it seems now…when honesty, kindness, and Godly righteousness was taught and honored.

America - in general - must repent, seek righteousness, from the individual all the way to all powers of authority. But perhaps most of all, this can only begin with one…me, and you, and every citizen of the land.

Have we strayed too far? Some believe so.

However, God is long suffering, and very patient. He could punish those who have turned away or ignored Him. There is still room for America to repent. However, as mentioned before in this column, “…we are hard to turn”.

Nations have a way of ignoring and treating God with disdain. History seems to show that He uses one nation to punish another.
Has America already strayed too far?

Time will tell....

“If I shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or if I command locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence and plague among My people, and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.” - 2 Chronicles 7:13-20
