'Christ in You...'

Choices

There seems to be more and more available - even equal - options that we must choose from in life. Indecision has been the culprit that has destroyed so many.

From indecision in everyday life to indecision in love and war, with each passing moment, it is becoming more difficult to ascertain and decide issues among a variety available choices in our lives.

The lost opportunity. How sad...and destructive it can be! Not only for others, but doubly so for those who preach and teach to others. Much is caused by the lack of clarity of the options. Ultimately, many resort to just a guess, although it may be an educated guess. If God knows the future in it's entirety, including our actions and thoughts, can there really be "free moral agency"?

God knows our thoughts and acts before we think them or do them.

Even if He does, His knowledge of all things does not cancel personal responsibility on our part. Indecision has been the culprit that has destroyed so many. From indecision in everyday life to indecision in war and love.

The lost opportunity - victims of the lack of, or result of wrong choices. So often, God is not considered. So many times, we neglect the key factor to solving the matter of choice.

Often, only God is capable to lead us to the right choice:

"For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes]." - 1 Corinthians 2:16

How sad...and destructive it can be if we do not go to Christ to seek His thoughts and what His purpose may be in the issue we are pondering. Much turmoil and ultimately many regrets result because the issue is not taken to God in prayer. Failure and confusion results when we do not allow God to administer His guidance. We cannot know God's will unless we go to Him seeking guidance in making decisions, and making choices.

This leads to a lack of clarity in understanding the options. If there is not clarity, we are simply victims of a lack of making a choice, or making no choice...which is just another way of choosing.

Are you struggling with how to make the right choice and making the right decision regarding an issue in your life? Seek in prayer the "mind of the Lord" regarding your circumstances. The right solution can only be found in the mind of God. Only there can you understand and obtain the wisdom to make the right choice.

The right choice is found only in the wisdom of God. Do not decide on you own. Do not make a decision using your own logic.

Ask God to give you His wisdom and the courage to trust His convicting of your heart as to the decision you should make.

Take everything to God in prayer.

"So teach us to number our days, that we may cultivate and bring to You a heart of wisdom." - Psalm 90:12
