Crisis Of Change
Date Posted: March 6, 2016

“To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted.”- Ecclesiastes 1:1-2

It seems sometimes the very thought of the word “change” creates a kind of fear and apprehension that is almost mentally disabling. No one really wants change - even if it is for the present good, much less for the future good. There is mesmerizing aura about the statue quo that often prevents any kind of willful change, much less a change that, for the moment, seems very frightening.

The status quo becomes like a comfortable garment or pair of shoes. They have conformed to us, therefore we have conformed to them. But when Jesus came to this earth, He presented a change for humanity. A change that would require a change, not of outward garments, but a change beneath our outward garments. He came to offer a change from the inside out. A change of heart and nature.

The Eternal God who created and planned all things deemed that it was time…the time for intervention in the world. The world needed a change. As He knew it would. It was time. The greatest time under the sun had come for many to be changed from the inside out. By that time, the world was filled with darkness of unimaginable proportions.

But He came as “light” in impenetrable darkness. The history of the world when He came was in some ways facing a crisis of evil similar to our world today. Different in form and shape, players, and instruments for evil, but similar in crisis.

Jesus’ coming at that time began a ray of hope for mankind before evil completely overcame hope. After He fulfilled His purpose, a new world began spreading eventually around the earth, as millions turned and believed in and submitted to Him.

However, mankind still loved their darkness in the main…crisis upon crisis has accentuated since then until the world now faces potential mass extension from an evil on a scale that pales into relative insignificance the crisis’s of the past.

As was once warned:

“Advent is a time when we await God’s intervention in the need of the present day, as he intervened then in Jesus birth. We long for the highest power to rescue this unhappy, torn humanity that knows so little community. Now is the time to ask God for a radical change in all things, even if this means we must go through judgment” - Eberhard Arnold (1883-1935) From: “When The Time Is Fulfilled”

We have entered the “end times”, however we prefer to measure them. World events are reaching forward to a crisis that cannot be solved by mankind. Now is the time to solidify our relationship with the risen, living Christ. And at the same time, as He has told us, “let not your hearts be troubled”.

All these things must come to pass.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me. In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you. And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way.” - John 14:1-4
