'Christ in You...'

Formula For Eternal Life
Date Posted: February 19, 2017

Would you like to live forever...I mean, if it could be a life that would be perfect in every way, with perfect happiness, peace, and love from, and love to everyone?

You can have it. "The Bible tells me so..." as a partial verse from a Christian song goes.

The formula isn't complicated and out of reach for all except for just a few. Even if it were, it can happen to you. Yes, there some things you must set aside that may seem important right now. But the tradeoff is worth it beyond your wildest dreams!

Lets face it...your world and mine as we have known it is beginning to fall apart.

Truly, only God knows what will blast across our TV screens next. For the first time, a "one world" mentality and belief in what once was deemed impossible, is very much within reach. The question for you and me - and all - is what it will be like, and when...

Lets take a short look at present-day realities and potentials.

Actually, we already have "one world" in many ways; in communications, in travel, in educational possibilities and planning, in trade...in almost every conceivable way, it is already one world. Lets face it: our world is shrinking and increasing at an increasing rate.

One important clue to this is the beginning amalgamation of nations. Binding together, and splitting apart again, and reforming with some other nation or nations.

All part of ultimate shrinking and reforming with another, the disappearing of borders, and reforming, the creating of one border and quickly it seems, the lines are redrawn to include or exclude other nations and nationalities. Old and new hatreds in words and deeds form reform in a matter of days. The shuffling continues toward the brink of unimaginable conflict and war.

This short paragraph doesn't' scratch the surface of the total reality of our world.

If this and more is so, what can you and I do?

We - and the world - do have options. For you and me as individuals with families and loved ones, the future, even in the short run looks bleak indeed. We cannot change the world as individuals. However, we do have an option before our world enters the climax God will bring about as He intervenes. He must. Otherwise world destruction is unavoidable. If this is so, you and I can have hope and comfort in the truth. Jesus will intervene in the world, but the chaos and carnage on earth will be allowed to reach the point where God must intervene.

First, there must be repentance of our on way.

No matter how "righteous" we feel we have been. We must effectively turn completely away from our way and our life.

Second, we must believe in Jesus Christ, and believe that He will forgive ALL our makeup that makes us who we are and have been, and trust Him to mould and reshape our nature and our entire way of thinking and doing.

Both elements of the formula can be summed up in one word:

Surrender...

...to Jesus Christ. Without qualification or reservation.

We must come to the point in our life and living of turning from our way of thinking, believing, and doing.

We can discern the extent that we have done all this by the extent that we are now striving to yield to Him. One Biblical statement sums it up:

"Therefore let us get past the elementary stage in the teachings about the Christ, advancing on to maturity and perfection and spiritual completeness, [doing this] without laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God..." - Hebrews 6:1

Whatever may occur in our world in the future, if we have turned from our ways in this world (repentance), and have faith (faith in God) and if we surrender all to God in this way, no matter what may happen in the world, we will inherent eternal life in the next world...the one that Jesus will cerate when He returns.

In that new world to come, you will inherit eternal life.

Can you surrender to Him before our world, as know it, is no more?

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." - Revelation 21:1-4
