Fruit Of The Spirit
Date Posted: April 23, 2017

No one has all of them…except Jesus.

But one in particular is seemingly and noticeably lacking in many Christian organizations. As a pastor began his sermon once began with “brethren, where is the joy!”

Fruit of the Spirit is gifted in true believers, as a composite of the function of the Holy Spirit who is a member of the Godhead. The fruit of the Spirit are single (only one Holy Spirit who is filled with all the them), and singular, and are administered by that same Spirit, and manifested in many different ways:

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22-23

Various gifts of the Spirit are given to all Christians. Some may have been given more than one; some several are given. The Apostle Paul reminds all that they must be alert so as not to envy each other regarding the gift (or gifts) of the Spirit. To do so is to violate the first gift that every Christian should have - love.

Every Christian is expected by God to aim at and seek to possess every gift of the Spirit. By doing so, each one becomes more and more like Jesus Christ. Each of the gifts are manifested in different ways at different times depending on the innate personality that each of us as believers were born with. This is a key to understanding the differences of everyone’s personality. This is the key to genuine harmony between different Christian denominations.

In every person, in every family - regardless of who they are, where they were born, or many other circumstances of the life of each, each one is completely different; in abilities, proclivities, experiences in life, heredity, etc.

The Holy Spirit, by whom all spiritual gifts originate, is saddened and grieved if, when a Christian violates the first gift, His spirit of love. God IS love. And if the spirit of love is violated, it grieves the Holy Spirit who manifests and sustains Love in every believer. If the spirit of love is missing, the other fruits of the Spirit will be missing also.

“And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice." - Ephesians 4:30

The Holy Spirit has the mind of God because He is God in Spirit. It is by the Holy Spirit that Jesus was begotten by God the Father in the virgin Mary, and came forth as the third member of the God family. Hence we have the definition of it all in the word Trinity (Three in One). When Jesus was born of the Spirit of God the Father, a whole new demention of understanding of what God is doing here on earth was revealed. The revelation of the third one of the Godhead begins the next part of God's plan that is so mind boggling as to be almost incomprehensible.

Now, mankind can become members of the "God family".

Now, those of the human family may be begotten by that same Holy Spirit, thereby becoming the sons and daughters of God, and become members of the "God family", eventually becoming changed from flesh and becoming the eternal children of God the Father.

What an awesome destiny for those who are born of the Holy Spirit, and become filled with the fruit of the Spirit as the sons and daughters of God Himself!

"And Jesus replied to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].’" - Matthew 22:37-39
