Do you feel discouraged concerning what you believed was a calling on your life?

If you are dedicated to living out the calling on your life, there will be times of testing your will to go on. Perhaps you feel discouraged, disheartened. And even wonder if what you have believed that Jesus put on your heart is a mistake. Perhaps you now feel you were overly zealous, and misread the calling.

You feel weak and discouraged. And you wonder if you should have begun. Perhaps it was just a vain idea or wishful thinking. An over-zealous enthusiasm brought on by the joy of your salvation. If you knew in your heart that God has called you then, it is just as certain now as it was then. God put it on your heart. He will not and does not change His mind about it later: Even though Israel rebelled, and turn against God, His ultimate purpose to save them never changed (Romans 11).

Neither has your calling changed:

"For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.] - Romans 11:9

Discouragement is a ploy of Satan he has been used down through the ages to discourage, dishearten, and disrupt the work of God through the Holy Spirit. He may place stumbling blocks in your path, subtle and hidden.

There will be times, perhaps more than a few, when it seems more and more difficult - even impossible - for you to accomplish the calling God has put upon your life, However, when He deems it necessary, He will reduce, remove, or soften the difficulties enough to enable you to accomplish what He wants you to do. God's purposes do not change. However, Chist's strength is often ultimately shown through your weakness:

"But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

He will give you enough grace to accomplish to the extent He desires and planned for you to do. In addition He will increase your strength; strength that you did know you had, or simply add to what you had when He called you. His enablement will come at the exact moment that you think you cannot continue.

The Holy Spirit will empower you with a strength you never thought you could have. And - you were right. You could not have it then. He knows your limits and your needs, and His timing is perfect for the call He has given. He knew your strengths and weaknesses before He called you.

You can fail only if you convince yourself that you will fail. His grace will always be enough if you trust Him. On your own, you could fail. But you cannot fail, as long as you believe Him. Your difficulties are signs of the devils resistance, but actually prove and serve as signs of God's approval of your efforts.

The more you are determined to serve God according to His calling on your life, the more the devil will search for your weaknesses and attempt to use them against you. But Jesus has said He will never forsake you!

Now, dare to go forward!

Dare to move on with Him. He cannot fail as He lives and moves in and through you, as you yield to Him. He is saying in a still, small voice, "Trust Me!"

"Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down, relax My hold on you! Assuredly not!" - Hebrews 13:5 (AMP)
