Pray For God's Word

Have you ever felt that your prayers are somewhat repetitous, when it seems that your prayers seem to have turned to rituals that are repeated over and over? Please understand that prayer about the same issues every day, etc. is not repetitous in a bad sense.

However, if essentially every word gets to be the same, the repetition may not be the best way to approach the issue you have been praying about. The Bible speaks abouit those who through "vain repetition" may not be getting the attention of God is desired. Perhaps changing your wording, or adding additional information (all of which God already knows...) would tend to make your prayers more purposeful and more inspiring for you.

So, praying about your prayers could energize your prayer life. Also, issues we pray about how your prayers could be approached in a more bibical perspective. Take your thoughts and feelings apart before God, for He is listening just for you.

If we are reading and studying (not just observing words and sentences) the Bible, prayer should be the catalyst that forms our attitude toward and comprehension of what we are reading.

There are some very practical reasons for doing all these things.

We may not think much about it, or hear much about the fact that Satan the devil is, even at this moment, working feverishly to corrupt, twist, distort, and discredit the Bible in any and every way he can. And to do this at the very source, when the new version is compiled and published. There some very good translations of the Bible out there.

But in all honesty, some are questionable in some way. However, the easiest method for Satan to corrupt God's word would to courupt it before God's children ever get to see it.

God's people are generally not in the habit of questioning the Bible that they turn to habitually. Let it be said that most translations are not going to deceive the reader to the point of loosing his/her salvation or calling.

However, be assured Satan is working on it. And without our prayers, and our sensitivity guided by the Holy Spirit, some could be deceived in one way or another. What better way to deceive the children of God than to corrupt the very source of that which contributed to their becoming God's children to begin with.

Therefore, the next time you pray, consider praying for the translators of new versions, and for your and other's awareness concerning possible distortion of God's Word. Prayer is our first line of defense against a Satanic assault on the Holy Word of God in our daily life of prayer.

Pray - and pray also fhat the Bible will not be corrupted in any way that Satan may attempt to do so.

Pray for the Bible!

"For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart." - Hebrews 4:12
