'Christ in You...'

Everyone gets tired.

Therefore, everyone needs rest.

There are different types of rest...physical rest from hard labor by the physical body, and there is the rest that is needed by the mind after mental exertion from working with that which challenges the mind and thought processes. This in turn also affects the physical body. So much so at times that one feels as though extreme physical exertion has occurred.

We are promised that if (and when) we come to Jesus Christ, he will give us rest. This is a rest from the burden of a sinful life. But one may ask, "but what is a sinful life?".

Most would agree that a "sinful life" would be an accurate label for a murderer, a child molester, a habitual liar, a thief... But what is not realized by most of those who are simply ignoring laws of nature, is that there are laws of cause and affect, laws that impact the body unknown to those being attacked. Subsequently people are afflicted because these laws are being violated.

They are not aware of the sequences.

Since the fall of man in the Garden, mankind has been blinded to two things. One, the consequences of sin, and Two, that one could experience true rest from those consequences. A remedy has been provided. Unfortunately, most of mankind has been blinded to that remedy, and even when the blindness has been revealed, he will not believe it.

He will not believe because he has been convinced that the life being lived is normal.

Even if he understood, there seems to be no other way. Tiredness, weariness, discouragement, insecurity, strife, and endless toil is all he knows.

Therefore, God looked down on human kind in compassion and devised a way out.

However, this way to rest...complete mental, emotional, spiritual, and even physical rest...is generally not believed by most. Ironically, this rest involves tossing aside the burdens one has received as the result of the tragedy of Eden, and receiving another burden. One must surrender his or her life to Him. Are you will willing to accept the tradeoff? Will you surrender the burdens you are carrying to Him, and accept His instead?

The remedy for the heaviness of life caused by embracing the ways of the world, and struggling to deal with life on his own is that mankind can now receive relief. Your burdens can be removed and replaced by easier and lighert burdens instead. These given to you by Jesus will become so much lighter and easier to bare, most will not believe it.

But it is true.

Will you believe Him?

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne." - Matthew 11:28-30
