'Christ in You...'

The Book Of Life
Date Posted: November 1, 2015

Did you know that a book is being written about you?

Not only you, but all others, too. No matter who you are, how famous you may or may not be, how old you are, where you were educated, what your occupation is or may have been. A book is being written about your life. Not only yours, but many others.

Many have had books written about them; who they are, what they have accomplished during their life, or perhaps what they did not do that made them well known. So, they were accounted worthy to have a book written by someone about their life.

God has and is writing a book about you. He is making entries daily perhaps. He has many names and the lives concerning everyone who has been born, a book that contains everything about you - what you have done in your life from start to finish.

God has two books of great importance referred to in the Book of Revelation that includes the names apparently of all who live, have lived, and will live. One book is the "book of life" in which are the names of everyone who has been called and chosen for eternal life. The other book is a book in which is recorded every deed, how every human has lived in detail.

This is a book with entries perhaps every day, in which He records every deed that everyone has done, how they lived, what their entire relationship they have with Him, and with fellow human beings. Those who lived a righteous life will be recorded in God's book of life who have been selected to receive eternal life if they endure. Paul encouraged the Philippines to forgive those who were not serving as they should, and noted that their names were still in God's "Book of Life". (Philippians 4:3).

Those who deliberately turn back into a sinful life, rejecting God and His gift of eternal life can be erased from the book of life. David prayed that his enemies might have their names removed from a book, apparently referring to the book of life (Psalm 69:28).

Many who lived lives of rebellion and unrighteousness will not have their names written in God's book of life. There will come the time when God will avenge the sins and horrors perpetrated by rebellions mankind (Revelation 13:8). In the final days when Jesus is preparing to return, those who were not entered into the book of life, will be cast into the lake of fire prepared for Satan and his demons.

There is final judgment coming when God will call everyone who ever lived into account - the good and the bad.

God is a God of love. He is loving, giving and forgiving, full of goodness and grace. David praises God for knowing all things about him, and knows his heart's intent, aside from his weaknesses. God knew him thoroughly, as he does you and me. But He is a God of perfect love - and justice.

"Then I saw a great white throne and the One Who was seated upon it, from Whose presence and from the sight of Whose face earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. I [also] saw the dead, great and small; they stood before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged (sentenced) by what they had done their whole way of feeling and acting, their aims and endeavors] in accordance with what was recorded in the books. And the sea delivered up the dead who were in it, death and Hades the state of death or disembodied existence) surrendered the dead in them, and all were tried and their cases determined by what they had done [according to their motives, aims, and works]. Then death and Hades the state of death or disembodied existence) were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s [name] was not found recorded in the Book of Life, he was hurled into the lake of fire." - Revelation 20:11-15

There is a day coming when all wrongs wil be made right, all that is hidden will be brought into the light of Christ's judgment, and all who have been faithful will be honored and rewarded. If you have given you life to Jesus Christ, and continue to yield to Him, He will not remove your name from the Book Of Life!

"Thus shall he who conquers (is victorious) be clad in white garments, and I will not erase or blot out his name from the Book of Life; I will acknowledge him [as Mine] and I will confess his name openly before My Father and before His angels". - Revelation 3:5

Continue to live close to Him, yielding to Him, so that your name will remain in the Book of Life

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:35-39
