The Word Processors
Date Posted: January 3, 2016

We are all processors of words. All kinds of words.

Words we hear others say, words we read, and simply words we may see, but may not understand. We react immediately upon hearing or seeing many different words. Every human reacts in a different way, whether very subtly or vocally, others we have no visible or realized reaction.

The manner in which we react is largely determined by life experiences up until we hear the word or words, coupled with heredity. Our responses to all words are modified by life events, and inherited proclivities along with input from a conglomerations of various other sources. In short, we are all “word processors”.

How we understand something in words we hear or read is as varied as there are individuals attempting to understand them. In other words (no pun intended…), there are as many understandings of a word or words as there humans on earth. Collectively, we refer to these processes as personal opinions, largely determined by millions of other processors. Theses endless twists and turns of millions of other twists and turns are constantly changing although usually very subtly, and unrealized by the participants.

Is there any wonder we live in a world of confusion? The situation is then multiplied by millions of others who are just as confused as other millions! The question: where is the truth, the real truth, the whole truth? How may of these words, and their millions of interpretations, can be trusted, and labeled as “the truth”?

As long as there are millions of word purveyors, there will be undoubtedly be many more diverse opinions as to the meaning of those words.

When Jesus was standing before Pilate answering for witness and His live, He responded to Pilate by not responding. Jesus answered without a “word” or words when Pilate asked “what is truth”? Jesus answered him - He answered him by “not a word”. Oh the power of silence!

“Pilate said to Him [scornfully], “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them, “I find no guilt in Him [no crime, no cause for an accusation].” (John 18:38).

The old cliché “silence is golden” must have begun here.

There are times in our lives when no word is the right word not spoken. There are times when silence speaks volumes. It seems today there is no end to words from seemingly endless sources.

There should be. Somewhere. Sometime. A time when silence truly is golden. When nothing needs to be said. A time when everything for every one has been said.

No more opinions by the millions, no more word processing. There will be only one peace and one truth. And, along with them, one eternal Love and Joy. Only Words to live in endless praise, endlessly expressed.

May God speed that day…

"In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words." - Romans 8:26
