'Christ in You...'

What Has Been Done For You And Me
Date Posted: March 27, 2016

Christ has done it all for you and me!

Christ became sin In our stead - so that our sins would not be counted against us.

When we are without belief in Jesus Christ, our relationship to sin is:

We can live with it...
We can ignore it...
We can flee from it...

Or, we can leave it all at the foot of the cross.

It is possible to live with the first three at the same time. Regardless, if it is there, it is still ours. It sticks like glue. It follows you, pursues you, and - if not gotten rid of, it will kill eventually kill you spiritually, and possibly physically.

But if you are willing, He will through His sacrifice on the cross, reach down and deliver you.

Thru suffering Jesus "learned obedience" - He experienced the process of obedience, and suffered for our disobedience. Through this, He was "made perfect" as a human, as He was also already perfect as the Son of God, but He became sin for a while in our stead. Notice:

"Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear, though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered; and having been made perfect, he became unto all them that obey him the author of eternal salvation." - Hebrews 5:7-9.

Now, as our High Priest, he can empathize with us in our life and trials. He enters into our trials and experiences while we are in this flesh. He experienced all that we will ever experience while struggling with sin. Although He has all power and all love, He is glorified in small things and big things.

God uses small things and big things that He has created to make a point when He speaks. He constantly utilizes elements of His creation - small and large - to illustrate and magnify the good and the bad in the people He discusses in His Word (Jeremiah 6-12).

He uses simple things - often not even noticed by busy mankind - to compare and illustrate a point He is making or a condition He is describing. He is intimately involved with all His creation, from the most smallest things to the limitless universe. Since this is so, He is intimately in your life. He knows every thought, attitude, word, or works that you do, 24/7. God is the God of something better - when God allows something to be taken away that is important to us, He will eventually replace it with something better.

And then even for such as you and me, He reaches down, takes our hand and lifts us up out of the mire of this world and its sin. Have you taken hold of His outstretched hand?

How About Your Heart?...

Is It Right With God?...

"Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9
