God's Love Endures Forever

Psalm 118:1-9

Verses 1-4

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,

His love endures forever.

Let Israel say:

“His love endures forever.”

Let the house of Aaron say:

“His love endures forever.”

Let those who fear the LORD say”

“His love endures forever.”

God commands us to always give thanks to Him. The whole world should say, “His loves endures forever.” Especially those who have great respect for Him.

Verses 5-6

In my anguish I cried to the LORD,

And he answered by setting me free.

The LORD is with me, I will not be afraid.

What can man do to me?

The psalmist took his hurt, his needs, and his anxieties to the LORD. God answered him.

The LORD freed him from his worries. God is with us; we should not be afraid of anything.

Verse 7-9

The LORD is with me; he is my helper.

I will look in triumph on my enemies

It is better to take refuge in the LORD

Than to trust in man,

It is better to take refuge in the LORD

Than to trust in princes.

When God is with us, we should not be afraid of anything. God guides us through those times of fear, doubt, and anxiety. We should hold our head up before those who cause harm to us.

God gives us the best place to hold up in. That place is in His arms. Man will let us down. Government leaders will not always do what is best for us. But God will always do what is ultimately best for His children.
