God's Words For US

Some Have No Shame
Date Posted: October 28, 2016

“People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive. . . .”

2 Timothy 3:2

Every day, we see people who have no shame. They participate in certain worldly activities because “no one is going to know.” They have a demeanor they use when they are not in their usual setting; then they also have a behavior that they wear when they are around ‘church people.’ These two behaviors are extreme polar opposites.

When we who believe act like the world, we send mixed messages to those around us.

Our actions can result from at least one or more of the following thoughts:

1.) “I don’t really believe what the Bible says.”

2.) “I don’t believe the teachings of the Jesus are relevant to us today.”

3.) “I choose act this way because I want to fit in with these people. I am insecure in my faith.”

We should awaken ourselves to the fact that Jesus could come back at any time. If we are ready for His return to earth, we will have chosen to follow Him rather that the ways of the world.

How do we make ourselves ready for His return? We do this by staying close to Him. We read His Word. We seek His guidance. We pray to Him. We ask for his comfort. We live for His. We work in His vineyards. We model His behavior. In actuality, we become His hands and feet.

In our Wednesday night Bible Study at church, we are studying end-time prophecy. The lessons thus far have been enlightening. Some of us believe we are living those events and predictions in the 21century. I give no predictions; all I am saying is that we need to be knowledgeable about what the Bible tells us.
