God's Words For US

God is With Us

“The LORD your God goes with you; he will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

Several of my friends are struggling right now. One reasonably young couple, the daughter and son-in law of very close friends, presently deals with his illness—one that had no symptoms until just over four months ago. Another couple faces her son’s reaction to prolonged stress and anger in his life.

All I can do at this time is pray for these friends and their loved ones. In both of these families, others are going through times of serious illness and medical crises.

Why do we see so many with many fronts of suffering? Time is getting close for Jesus to return. The enemy is kicking up his feet and trying to discourage God’s people by stirring things up.

We see this in events in our world. I use an iPad just to check out two news channels. What I see can discourage even strong Christian people. In my home state, a ‘so-called’ friend of a family tortured and killed a small (14-month-old) girl. The events in Europe and Asia cause us grief. In Pakistan, children were at a park on Easter Sunday; a group bombed that park—on Easter Sunday, the holiest day of the year.

God’s people have to stay strong and continue to stand for Him. When He comes again, He will take care of all those who inflict harm on others because of misguided thinking.

All we have to do is turn on our electronic devices or our televisions to hear about these travesties of man against man. We need to be praying for revival and for God’s protection and guidance for our nations.

God is still on His throne. He will guide us through this time. We have to pray and let Him lead us.
