God's Words For US

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”

John’s Vision
John the Revelator sees the aftermath of the judgment before the white throne that includes Death and Hades being thrown into the Lake of Fire (this being the second death.) He sees a new heaven and a new earth. There was no more sea. Have you and I thought about this?
When we receive something new, we are excited. We remember our children’s wonderment on Christmas morning or on their birthdays. I believe the sense of awe of those who witness it will be far greater than anyone can imagine. How do you think this new heaven and earth will appear? How will life be at that time?
New Jerusalem
Can you imagine the excitement of those who hear the announcement? Have we ever thought about what John must have felt as he took in this scene? God will be with His people; they will see Him, face to face. He will live among them.
The people will be in awe. Can we imagine what they feel as they as the words penetrate their hearts? They will feel thankful that they have made it through to see the beautiful city of God. They will be in awe of the majesty and splendor that surrounds them. This leaves me speechless.
God Makes All Things New
I dearly love this description of the New Jerusalem. God is taking an active part in the lives of His people. He will minister to those who are sad. He will comfort those who are hurting. Death will not enter the scene. Ergo, mourning will not be a phase of life. Can we begin to imagine life without pain? For a lot of people, this will be wonderful.
The absence of these five realities of our lives will be no more because God will make “all things new.” Do we understand what God means here? Can we fully understand what He means? As I sit here in my little home I cannot fully comprehend how this new However, I have these words to guide me until the day I see Him face-to-face.
