God's Words For US

What Does God Want?
Date Posted: December 29, 2017

This question comes to my mind as the year 2017 comes to a close as I sit in ‘God’s waiting room, seeking His guidance for my life. Here are some answers that come to mind.

He wants us to come to Him. (Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. ESV)

He wants our whole hearts. (You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 ESV)

Our God wants us to trust Him. (Trust the Lord your God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Psalm 3:5 ESV)

God wants His children to worship Him and only Him. (“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before[a] me.” Exodus 20:23 ESV)

Our heavenly Father requires His children to do justice. (He has told you, O man, what is good and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8. ESV)

Our LORD desires that we serve others. (And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me. Matthew 25:40 ESV)

He wants His children to forgive others. (. . . .bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Colossians 3:13 ESV)

Our God wants his children to obey Him. (And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

1 Samuel 15:22 ESV.)
