Jesus – You are exactly what I need, when I need it.
When I am hungry, you feed me.
Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry…" – John 6:35a
When I am thirsty, you quench my thirst.
"…and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." – John 6:35b
When I need protection, you are my shield.
But you are a shield around me, O LORD; – Psalm 3:3a
When I am low, you lift me up.
you bestow glory on me and lift up my head. – Psalm 3:3b
When I am afraid, you are a haven from my enemies.
The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. – Psalm 9:9
When I am weak, you are my strength.
I love you, O LORD, my strength. – Psalm 18:1
When I am lost, you show me the way.
Jesus answered, "I am the way…" – John 14:6a
When I am confused, you are the answer.
"…and the truth and the life." – John 14:6b
So why do I complain? Why are there times when I truly believe I need more?
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2
This world has nothing for me Lord.
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. – Colossians 2:8
Lord, you are exactly what I need.
You are all that I need.
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. – Psalm 18:2
Lord, help me to always remember these truths and whenever I start to complain remind me… you are exactly what I need!
