As we read Jeremiah Chapters 2 and 3 - the whole Hebrew nation is in view. Prophets tend to ignore the divided kingdom. They speak to the whole people of God. We move into Jeremiah Chapter 2 – and from verse 1 right down to Chapter 3 verse 5, we have one of his sermons - one of his messages, or addresses. Jeremiah the prophet - like every true prophet - spoke from God and spoke for God - and his words came true. This is what marks him out as a true prophet. Deuteronomy 18 verse 22. Why did Almighty God choose this teenager? God saw something in Jeremiah - and God knew He could put more into him. Jeremiah is one of the prophets raised up by our Loving God in Israel at a time when the situation was serious and critical - the nation was facing a crisis - the nation was facing the Judgement of God. It is seldom easy to leave a book and no more so than Paul’s letter to the Romans. Here is a brief summary or overview. In Romans Chapters 16 we have been reading about people - we have this list of names of people - and how Paul appreciated people who had served Jesus Christ - how he noticed what they had done - and sometimes the degree of intensity and hardship and suffering which their faithfulness had brought upon them.……  ( Click for more )

Remembering names can sometimes be a very hard thing. If you pray for people, that will help you remember their name. As we complete our reading of Romans Chapter 15 – remind us of how Paul’s deep concerns was for the peace and harmony and unity of this fellowship in Rome - we have read of how he pleaded with these people to keep together - to remain one in Christ - to welcome, receive and accept one another……  ( Click for more )

There are times when it is not only what you can do - but what you can bear. Who can you lift up? Who can you support?
