A Glimpse of How Seriously Almighty God Regards Wickedness and Sin
Date Posted: March 28, 2016

In Psalm 5, David continues to be troubled, and he continues to pray. David's heart is heavy. He is burdened. This man of God has a real problem in his life, and he cries out to His God and His King for help. He knows that his crying out will reach not only the ears of God, but the heart of God.

Address your cry to the One Who can help. It will not always be words. It might be sighing! David is specific. There are times when too have to be specific in prayer.

Each morning I come before You O God. I will begin the day with You and I will share with You everything that is on my heart.

Now, that would wear any man out, but that will not wear out the heart of God.

Seek God's favour in the morning. Here we read of David the brave warrior king at prayer. He goes to God.

Some have said that prayer is just a crutch for weak people - never. But if it was, I would still use it, and be seen using it.

Lord, I will be waiting for the answer, and waiting in expectation. Sometimes we pray and we do not really expect Jesus to answer.

Verse 4 – God takes no pleasure in wickedness. We are given a God's views of evil and wickedness. Such people give no pleasure to Him, and they cannot dwell with Him.

David knows the character of God, and we know it even better through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

Verse 5 – Foolish proud arrogant sinners will not survive in the presence of God. God hates all who are in any way connected with evil or wickedness and wrong doing - strong words. I do not want to belong to that group of people, and have God deal with me as is described in these verses. And yet He loves sinners.

Verse 6 - God will deal with those who speak lies and spread rumours. He abhors the man who murders and deceives.

We see here something of just how much God hates sin, and that of course is revealed through the Cross. That was really the only way sin could be dealt with, through the shed blood of the perfect Lamb of God – our Passover Lamb.

God was so concerned that He sent Jesus.

We were in such a mess - spotted - stained - mucky - marred - filthy – polluted and contaminated and poisoned by sin - and Jesus Christ and His Blood is the only antidote.

Jesus removes the sins - and heals the scars - and soothes the wounds.
