In Creation, God Takes Nothing and Creates Something!
Date Posted: February 26, 2018

If the first verse of the Bible is a lie - then how reliable is the rest of the Bible? That is basically what it at stake here!

Jesus Christ had no problem whatsoever with Genesis Chapters 1,2 and Jesus quotes from both Chapters.

We are in the early verses of Genesis Chapter 1.

What has CREATION to do with the Economy - the nuclear threat – climate change or global warming - marriage and divorce - immorality, pornography, and abortion - etc? A LOT! When we do not believe the Bible we begin to believe anything - and soon we allow anything!

Genesis is not a collection of MYTHS and LEGENDS - but the actual record of real people and actual events. If Genesis were expurgated from the Bible - removed - edited out - the rest of the Bible would have little meaning - it would be incomprehensible - like a bridge without supports - a building with no foundation.

Undermine Genesis and you undermine everything that is so important to us.

If there is NO FALL as in Genesis Chapter 3 - then, there is no need for a Saviour - no need for JESUS – and no need for the Power of the Holy Spirit! If life just evolved, then the weakest forms of life can go to the wall - and unwanted life can be quickly and quietly done away with - abortion - and then euthanasia!

The past is the key to the present! What happened in the past determines and explains how we should live and behave today and to-morrow. Now, many say the present is the key to the past. We see struggle and death today, so there has always been struggle and death. That is NOT SO. REVELATION is the key to the PAST.

If we deny - or explain away - the truths of Genesis - then all the teaching about Jesus Christ coming again is equally mythical, legendary and simply wishful thinking. Then you have done away with the Coming Judgement.

Genesis proclaims that God is the Creator of LIFE - and of order - and of man.

God was already there. He has always been there. The Bible never tries to prove the existence of God. Nothing ever turns into something by itself!

Genesis is the only religious book in the world that deals with CREATION - all others begin from there, and offer no explanation.

Adam is mentioned throughout the New Testament.

We look to God.

Society looks to ‘luck’ – whatever that is.

This Universe is the work of my Father. God was a Father before He was anything else. God was a Father before He was a Creator. God was a Father before He was a Saviour – the One to whom we look is our loving, caring, concerned, compassionate Heavenly Father.

You will not find this anywhere else in the whole world – no other ‘religion’ says anything like this – so wonderful – so awesome – so powerful – and so true.

The word used for God here is "Elohim" - and it is plural - and in all these verses it is the word "Elohim" which is used - but all the verbs are singular. It would be wrong to translate it 'gods' with a small 'g' - but what is implied is this - that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are involved in the work of Creation.

Let's also see that in certain verses the word "CREATED" is used - and in other verses the word "MADE" is used.

"BARA" = created. This word "CREATED" is crucial - it is never used in the context of man - only GOD CREATES - but God and man can make.

To make means to manufacture - to take a piece of wood and make a table or chair.

Three times in this chapter it is said that GOD CREATES. We cannot understand CREATE - because we cannot do it - and man does not like to accept something which he cannot understand.

Three ‘things’ are created - matter - life - and man. At those three points God is creating. God is bringing into existence something which was previously not there.

In Creation, God takes nothing and creates something. Occasionally God takes what He has created and makes something with it - God refashions it.

“Loving Saviour – Take me and mould me and shape me and fashion me – to be the kind of person you would have me be. Let Your Holy Word inspire and motivate me – deepen and mature my faith, in Jesus Name. Amen”

"Point of Reference" from Fred Price

"As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man." Prov. 27:19
