Word from Scotland

There is power in the Name of Jesus Christ. Hold the Name of Jesus high, and treat His Holy Name with reverence and respect, no matter how people around you may be abusing the very name of our Saviour and Lord.
We come to Psalm 8. O Lord Jesus, our Saviour and our Lord and King, Your Name is precious to us.
There is power in the Name of Jesus – read Mark Chapter 16 verses 17,18.
In the Name of Jesus we can pray and ask and receive. Read John Chapter 14 verses 13,14.
In Acts Chapter 3 we read of Peter and John meeting that lame man and Peter says to him - "Silver and gold I do not have but what have I give you. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." We approach the Psalms in the light of our experience of the risen and living Lord Jesus Christ.
Have you an experience of the risen and living and loving and forgiving Lord Jesus Christ?
All the writers of the New Testament had an experience of the risen and living Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Today, some write ‘theology’ without having a personal experience of the risen and living Jesus.
The New Testament writers experienced the risen Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit, prior to putting pen to parchment.
Although we are in the Psalms, I make no apology for repeating the fact of the risen and living Lord Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord and King Who is coming again. Without that reality and truth we are nothing, and still in our sins, according to Paul in I Corinthians Chapter 15.
Be rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus. Make sure you are properly and fully ‘born again’ because the spiritual warfare is becoming fiercer, and I know not what it might be like where you are, or when this reaches you.
The Name of God is excellent. In the Name of Jesus there is healing and wholeness - access to God - and authority.
And remembering these words in Acts Chapter 4 verse 12 - "Salvation is found in no-one else for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
The world needs to know, that in these present days, when there is so much confusion and compromise that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is unique and He did a work which no one else could do, and no one else ever do that work.
King David knew how important was the name of God and he respected that holy name.
The first use of Lord is the word Jahweh - Almighty God - out there - then the word Adonai - Master of everything - our Lord - Who draws near and comes close. ‘Glory’ has that meaning or sense of 'heavy'. God is weighty and awesome, and not to be treated lightly, but with respect.
He is our King and we celebrate His majesty. We read here of Who God is and what He has done.
The second verse of Psalm 8 was on the lips of Jesus, after He rode down the Mount of Olives to enter the Temple area in Jerusalem.
Jesus threw out all the things that should have no place in the House of Prayer - Matthew Chapter 21 verses 12 to 16 – and the blind and the lame came to Him and He healed them.
When the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that Jesus did and when they heard the children praising Him - they were displeased - and Jesus quotes from Psalm 8.
Praise can deal with enemies and foes, and those who would seek to avenge us. This is how we can sometimes deal with our enemies.
There is power in praise to silence and conquer critics.
