'Christ in You...'

A New House

God will not interfere in our decisions regarding our lives. Regardless of the wisdom or lack of it, the Lord will not subvert a man who is determined to live a certain way.

"But though He causes grief, yet will He be moved to compassion according to the multitude of His loving-kindness and tender mercy. For He does not willingly and from His heart afflict or grieve the children of men. To trample and crush underfoot all the prisoners of the earth, To turn aside and deprive a man of his rights before the face of the Most High or a superior [acting as God’s representative], To subvert a man in his cause—[of these things] the Lord does not approve. (Lamentations 3:32-36).

But unless we want Him to "build" our house, our labor will prove to be in vain - sooner or later.

If your purpose is to "build your house" of life bigger, richer, more elaborate, for more praise and attention from others, make more money, and prestige, and power, you will perish in the midst in of your endeavors. It has no foundation.

When the winds blow and the floods of life come, it cannot stand. God will not prevent you from doing these things, some of which when done with right purposes and with right priorities are not necessarily wrong of themselves. Regardless, however, all these things will perish with time, along with you unless you build your house to include considerations of eternity...

Had your house been a house of God, allowing Him to build a beautiful mansion of righteousness, your house would have stood when others around you are crumbling. Unless Jesus Christ builds a house, in time it will fall. And when it falls, it will be gone forever. It cannot be rebuilt.

Perhaps now is a good time to consider your priorities and of inviting Him to build your house. A house that will withstand the winds and erosions of time. Building a house requires time. Some will say, "if there had only been enough time!" Time to dig a foundation deep; one that can keep a house standing when the hidden and unseen elements of time and chance come, the perils to health and life, and many other threats to the house come to bare down on that house...

"And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand. And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great and complete was the fall of it." - Matthew 7:24-27 (AMP)

I have been referring of course, as Jesus did, to a house in an allegory. The house is you. And me. And all those who at this time still have time to allow Christ to build a new house in them what will never fall, but last forever.

We live in a very large "house" - the planet we live on, and country and city where we live our lives. All that we say, think, and do will be displayed before us when our house is examined and judged by Jesus Christ.

There is an irony here.

The very One who could have built a house in you that would never be destroyed and never fall, will also be the judge of that house that He did not build, but could have.

The large "house" we call our world, is becoming unstable and old. Yet we must live in it until it falls, or we leave it, one way or another.

There appears to still be some time.

For the world, and for you, if you are reading this. There is an expression by the Apostle Paul wherein he encourages those of his day to be "buying up the opportunity".

Now is the time to ask Jesus Christ to build you into a "house" that can never be destroyed. One that will last for eternity.

"Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light. Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is." - Ephesians 5:14-17 (AMP)
