'Christ in You...'

Is Christ Living In You?
Date Posted: August 30, 2015

For the last eight years "Christ In you..." has been the column title for articles appearing on the Live As If website. While reminiscing those years, I have felt that an explanation of those words, and what it means for Christ to be living in us, is needed.

This is of the utmost importance, because if Jesus Christ is not living in us, we are not saved, and we have no hope of eternal life.

Please bare with me for a few related scriptures:

"May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, that you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!" - Ephesians 3:17-19 (AMP)

All things are in God the Father's plan, and that plan is to bring all things under Christ authority and rulership. This means all authority, power, in heaven and earth, the endlessness of space - and you and me.

"For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him." - Colossians 1:16

We are created for relationships with each other, in Christ, and that relationship is sustained by only one thing: Jesus living in us. And to put anything in our lives before Him is sin.

It undermines all that God in Jesus Christ wants to do in us.

"O just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has failed to recognize You and has never acknowledged You, I have known You [continually]; and these men understand and know that You have sent Me. I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very Self, and I will continue to make [You] known, that the love which You have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them."- John 17:22-26

Jesus prayed this for His disciples for the last time that night. His this prayer is for all of those who believe in Him down through the years since He prayed it.That prayer is for you and me.

My prayer is that He is living in you today, and that you may endure by Christ living in you by the Holy Spirit.

"Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." - Colossians 1:25-27
