The Days Of Small Things

Even in them, Jesus is there!

What is your greatest concern, the thing about which most of all you would want

Christ’s help? Even if its a small thing, do you believe that it is too trivial for Him to hear, and to care, and to answer?

Small things per se, alone in their smallness, go unknoticed. But the accumulation of small things, both the good and the bad, have a way becoming hugh things sooner or later. Its the small things that accumulate over the years that slowly destroy what began as a thrilling courtship, and beautiful wedding. The small things go unnoticed - good and bad. The bad small things hide themselves and cover themselves over with the passage of time.

Seemingly, the good small things just go unnoticed until the bad small things become big small things. They are sneaky, and somehow know how to hide from us, unless we are alert, and watch for their ugly heads to pop up when it becomes more bad small things than we can handle. Then, when we are weakened, they conspire to destroy us. A marriage; a friendship; a commitment we made in good faith at the time.

Of course, our Lord sees it all via the Holy Spirit. Nothing escapes the Spirit's awareness.

But Jesus loves us. He knows every thing about us - even the small things. The good and the bad.

This is the moment when He will alert us. Draw us to Himself. By the approriate means He will get your attention that something has gone wrong in your life. Through the Spirit's leading, you will be alerted to your condition, along with the solution.

IF...

IF you respond to His urgings. The Spirit's urging influence is like no other. He is the Spirit of gentle persuasion, nudging, urging, and suble movements in our heart, until we become aware that somethng is wrong in our lives, and must be addressed ASAP.

Now to the good small things. There is no good thought, no good working out of a good deed, or good plan, or no small response to a small effort on someone's good turn toward us, that we do not respond to in kind. I kind jesture, s small smile (or a big one!). The Holy Spirit knows all our days and hours of experiences because He ever lives in us to bless, motivate, and encourage, and to warm us.

Watch for the small things in your life. They can become big things for good. Or, they can become big things for bad.

Think of Him today. If you are indwelt by Him, He will alert you to the small good things that they may grow toward your eventual glory and honor before Christ. And He will protect you from the incidious small bad things.

Never neglect awareness of the small things. They can be God's bigger good. Draw close to Jesus your Lord, and your small things could become wonderful and good big things.

"Who [with reason] despises the day of small things? For these seven shall rejoice when they see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel. [These seven] are the eyes of the Lord which run to and fro throughout the whole earth"- Zechariah 4:10
