Spring is the air. We know this because we’ve seen the bright green tulips peeking up their pointy heads to varying degrees from beneath the cold, faded wood chips.
We also know this because we’ve experienced a few lovely warm, sunny days after what seems like a forever cloudy winter pelting tortured hot-weather souls-at-heart (like myself) with record snowfalls!
And we also know this, because, Girls, if you went on Spring Break with your family, you probably took out last seasons’ bathing suit from the bottom of that drawer you never open and draped ( Click for more )
Y'varekh'kha ADONAI v'yishmerekha. [May ADONAI bless you and keep you.] Ya'er ADONAI panav eleikha vichunekka. [May ADONAI make his face shine on you and show you his favor.] Yissa ADONAI panav eleikha v'yasem l'kha shalom. [May ADONAI lift up his face toward you and give you peace.]' - Numbers 6:24-26 I love when my Dad comes to visit us. Many of you know that my Mother passed away unexpectedly just over one year ago. So when my Dad comes for a visit, it's always a treat to see how the LORD is moving in his life.
Often, I find myself entertaining questions such as Will ( Click for more )
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.”
- Matthew 5:17-18
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we kept before us the Christmas Presence always....if we were aware at all times of this Glorious Presence that goes before us?
Yes, this play on words evokes for me a glorious image of the Undeserved Presence we are blessed with everyday of the year. ( Click for more )
We don't dare class or compare ourselves with some of the people who advertise themselves. In measuring themselves against each other and comparing themselves with each other, they are simply stupid...because it is not the one who recommends himself who is worthy of approval, but the one whom the LORD recommends.
- 2 Corinthians 10:12,18 (CJB)
Has the LORD recommended you? HIS is the only commendation that matters during our stay on this earth. Paul wrote two letters of admonition and encouragement to the Corinthian fellowship who were entrenched ( Click for more )
דָּרַשׁ Drash - Diligently Seeking Truth. The Hebraic thought within this beautiful word will have a tremendous impact on your own personal study of Holy Writ, as it has mine. Within Jewish studies of the Scriptures, the term Beit Midrash is used. It translates 'House of Study/Learning'. You will notice the word 'drash' within the term.
Shall we begin our own drash?
Drash (Strongs #1875) - to frequent a place; to make a well-worn path (as unto the LORD); to seek, inquire, diligently search out; to worship

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard,on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore. - Psalm 133
‘Hinei mah tov umah nayim shevet achim gam yachad’...goes the simple Jewish tune written from the first verse of Psalm 133. We sing this often in our home. I thought perhaps, if I taught my children a song about ‘living ( Click for more )
These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him. A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. - Proverbs 6:16-19
"Mom, look at that lady!", my daughter smugly exclaimed, "she's smoking a cigarette!"
Her statement had caught me off guard and an uncontrolled glance in the woman's direction revealed the 'face of unsure' upon slumped shoulders. She had obviously ( Click for more )
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the LORD...- Acts 3:19
This may very well be the most important message I have ever relayed. In recent weeks I have been contemplating and studying the literal meaning of Biblical repentance. It is not simply mouthing the words ‘I’m sorry’ from a callous heart. It is, in fact, a gracious gift that continues to be extended to you and me. And without this gift, we are truly a hopeless, wandering, and dehydrated people. It is the goodness ( Click for more )
“Mom, Bethany was desperate, so she offered me twenty dollars to help her find her game”, Caleb said as we were driving to his baby sister’s gymnastics class.
“Oh, really?”, I said.
I could tell by the tone in his voice he was about to proudly profess to me that he had indeed chose God’s best in ( Click for more )
December of 2007 was a life-changing event for the Schroeder family. In fact, many things have changed in our lives over the past year due to our settling into a new community and all that goes along with that. We have been truly blessed and enriched in countless ways. I know that 2007 brought many blessings - as well as some pain - into your lives as well.
I would like to share with you the comforting reminders of His Spirit and the richness of His Word as on one occasion, I helplessly watched my once vibrant Mother lying stretched across a hospital gurney, void of all faculties ( Click for more )
What good will it do someone if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? Or, what can a person give in exchange for his life? - Matthew 16:26
He enjoys nothing—who lacks communion with Christ. He lacks nothing—who enjoys communion with Christ. - Thomas Brooks “Heaven on Earth” 1667
The old Puritan pastor had it right. We forget, don’t we - in the comfort of our Christian lives? We do the right things and say the right words but as time passes, we realize we are not actually enjoying life, are we? Where’s the joy? Where’s ( Click for more )
The Spirit expressly states that in the acharit-hayamim some people will apostatize from the faith by paying attention to deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come from the hypocrisy of liars whose own consciences have been burned, as if with a red-hot branding iron. - 1 Timothy 4:1-2
It is Satan’s duty to tempt you and help you go astray. It is The Holy Spirit’s delight to test you and lead you in The Way. It is the nature of every child, given a choice, to pick the shiny candy over the nutrient-dense foods. Imagine now the American ( Click for more )
O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. - Psalm 63:3 (NKJV)
On December 4th of 2007, I wrote The Hasidic Christ Follower - a word richly impressed upon my heart about our LORD’s ever faithful covenant hesed or loving-kindness. What a beautiful ( Click for more )
Then Miryam said, "My soul magnifies ADONAI; and my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior, who has taken notice of his servant-girl in her humble position. For -- imagine it! -- from now on, all generations will call me blessed! "The Mighty One has done great things for me! Indeed, his name is holy; and in every generation he has hesed on those who fear him. - Luke 1:46-50 (CJB)

Multi-Generational Prayer & Mentoring Group
Mispachah and Mereas
While many in Christian fellowships would say that mentoring is Biblical, there are very few who are achieving success. Why is that? Perhaps it may be a simple a lack of understanding of our Hebrew roots/Hebrew mindset of ‘merea’ (trusted friend) and ‘mishpachah’ (family).
First, let us study the Greek word origin of mentorship. The word MENTOR has its roots in Greek mythology. The Oxford ( Click for more )

Revolutionary Thought: With both the Messiah and His Spirit pleading on our behalf in accordance with God's will, then God's children need not struggle as they do with the idea of prayer....except to beat our bodies into the discipline of making our praises and requests known continually.
Romans 8:26-27,34 (CJB)
26 Similarly, the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we don't know how to pray the way we should. But the Spirit himself pleads on our behalf with groanings too deep for words; 27 and the one who searches hearts knows exactly what the Spirit is thinking, because ( Click for more )
Pursue love! However, keep on eagerly seeking the things of the Spirit; and especially seek to be able to prophesy. - 1 Corinthians 14:1 (CJB)
