'Christ in You...'
by Dale Krebbs
There is a time sometime in the future, when those who are alive, and those have died - even those who have perished in oceans and seas, even all those since mankind was created - will be resurrected and be judged. Those who have believed will be made immortal and be rewarded with eternal life and glory with God. “You have no assurance of your life…” - except that which Jesus Christ gives you by His grace, as the result of your belief in Him. A well-known commentary says it clearly: “Since everyone who goes before the great white throne is to ( Click for more )
There comes a time in the history of every age when the sheer complexity of life and living becomes so burdensome and therefore so complex, that it is almost impossible to chart our lives with any dependable certainty. That time is coming for our times. If not already upon us. There is a strange, almost universal kind of sleep, in our world. And at the same time, almost every for of evil and violence multiplies almost daily. This results in a feeling of abandonment for some when there seems to so real solutions. Eventually some say "why worry...eat drink and be merry, ( Click for more )
Do you ever wonder about your relationship with Jesus Christ? There are times when weaknesses may seem to undercut our assurance that we are saved, or that God is angry with us because of a perceived weakness. Being still human, we are susceptible to an array of influences in our lives that are broadcast satanic thoughts and feelings - all which depress and discourage us in our relationship with our loving Savior. In a sense, all that Satan has to do is get us to doubt our salvation which influences our minds. Our minds are so constructed to absorb wrong influences as well ( Click for more )
Have you ever been deeply offended by someone in some way, either accidentally or deliberately? You can suffer day and night from the hurt. Especially if it was totally unexpected, and done by someone who had complete trust; a long-time friend, or someone you trusted unconditionally. Perhaps the hurt was or was not deliberate, but your hurt was shocking due to past experience with the individual had been completely trusting. If the offense is accidental or deliberate, there are times when the nature of it, or the occurrence of the same offenses under different circumstances, attempts ( Click for more )
We are told that there no two humans on the earth that are exactly alike…in every detail, outward and inward. This is difficult to believe. Surely…in so many billions of humans - there are at least two who are exactly alike. However, if there were, surely someone would have found them and told the world by now. I am familiar with a small group of men who have been getting together to visit for several years, just to visit and fellowship, for two hours per week. It is amazing how this group can visit for about two hours. As I understand, in all the hours over the ( Click for more )
A friend of a relative stated that most do not realize they are getting older until they are between 80,83 years of age. The one who said this was in the mid 80’s, and had studied the phenomenon for a long time, and had noted it over and over. It is apparent to this person, who is a professional in the medical field, that most people (especially men…), between age 80,84 begin to be aware of certain changes in their body that they had never noticed before. It seemed almost universal…something happens during this age span that cannot be explained medically ( Click for more )
Why is it so difficult for pray...at last for some...and perhaps for many? It seems to vary from person to person. One may say that it is their delight that they look forward to as often as possible. Others claim it is an agony, and they must force themselves. They say that it is fearful to pray because God is so great and powerful and they feel they are so sinful and unworthy. They perceive God will condemn, or even destroy them because they know they have sinned. If not in actions, in their thoughts. In view of the wide spectrum of feelings and subsequent responses, how should ( Click for more )
Why would an eternal almighty God stoop down in the dirt and create a vastly inferior being, although a being that is a masterpiece of His creation? The speculation is intriguing of course…as intriguing as there are those who speculate. There are various theories as to why God decided to create mankind. No one completely knows the mind of God…especially as far back as when mankind was created. But God was led to create mankind because of the disobedience of one being already dwelling with God. So He decided to create beings to someday live with Him who would never ( Click for more )
Have you ever said something and realized later that it was wrong? Then you felt sick at heart with the burden, it was so heavy with sorrow and regret? You knew later that you had said the wrong thing - logically, and spiritually. An accidental encounter with a man who was to become a close friend, spoke the following words when I told him I was a writer: “Be careful with words…you can’t get them back…”. I have thought many, many times of his words since then. I had only begun to write, and his words, I pray, have served me well. There have ( Click for more )
If you are a Christian, your life has already been arranged, predestined, ordered, directed, guided. You are cared for, guarded, and provided for - and above all - loved… The operative and most important word is…if! If you are not a Christian, then you are on your on. Now and forever. Unless. Using that word “if” again, you can. You can become a Christian. All the benefits above can be your life and your eternal inheritance. Most of us have seen a fountain. The most common being a water fountain. There is a beautiful water fountain near where I ( Click for more )
Even in them, Jesus is there! What is your greatest concern, the thing about which most of all you would want Christ’s help? Even if its a small thing, do you believe that it is too trivial for Him to hear, and to care, and to answer? Small things per se, alone in their smallness, go unknoticed. But the accumulation of small things, both the good and the bad, have a way becoming hugh things sooner or later. Its the small things that accumulate over the years that slowly destroy what began as a thrilling courtship, and beautiful wedding. The small things go unnoticed ( Click for more )
Oh! if we could only see the wind! Even the physical wind - as it manipulates us physical and mentally...causing us to change our plans for our daily routine. The unseen power of blessings...and sometimes utter destruction as it whips wildfires that destroy almost everything in its path. We can’t see the wind. Unless it is revealed by its affects on something we can see. And that which we often cannot see, or feel, that promotes wrong changes in our lives can be caused by a wind that drives us off course on the sea of our lives. The winds are continually shifting, ( Click for more )
Our limitations - regardless of what they may be - are designed by God who is waiting for a change and subject to all the limitations that our flesh imposes. But He does expect us to respond according to our limitations. Our limitations are not intended to trap us into disobedience so He can accuse us or condemn us. He is patient. But His patience is sometime perceived as passiveness and disinterest. It is possible to take advantage of His patience, even though existentially. God is extremely patient and forbearing. He understands that we are dust, and subject to all the ( Click for more )
It seems that this three-letter word is becoming a universal, world-wide reality. Is this true, or simply the illusion created by the media? Do you feel that the pressure and complexities of your life are growing steadily without any major change in your personal circumstances? If we could examine the totality of events that affect everyday living, most would feel that the whole world is beginning to be a very dangerous place for humanity. And more especially for Christian believers in many parts of the world. Most are so preoccupied with “making ends meet” that ( Click for more )
What is the greatest danger today to a Christian - and to one who is close to believing in Him? “Many false prophets will appear and mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, the love of most people will grow cold. But the one who endures and bears up [under suffering] to the end will be saved.” - Matthew 24:11-13 (AMP) Jesus made this statement during His discourse on the Mt. of Olives. It is the longest and most detailed discourse spoken by Jesus recorded in the New Testament. One of His most alarming and important statements is that quoted above. Why? ( Click for more )
It is easy to say to ourselves, when we are busy with life’s demands and obligations, that a word, or a deed we know we should fulfill just seems to drift by. Lost in the business of a mind filled with daily personal care, and the world’s constant demands on our minds and our time. This is the world. The world we all must respond to in some way, every day. Oh! the business of this indiscernible something called life! Life can become so complicated and obligatory that time seems to fly…hours turn into days; days become compacted into what we call weeks ( Click for more )
Living in a fast changing world, it is almost impossible to see very far ahead in our lives. Usually only a few days, or even a few hours. This is as far as we can see ahead of us. However, Christ is walking just ahead of us. Unseen and usually, quietly. By the direction of the Holy Spirit, we are led just behind Him. Without knowing, we walk in His footprints. This being so, we are spiritually safe. Where He leads, we follow, being led by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes a sheep gets lost - not lost spiritually, but lost as to orientation and the ominous directions that our world ( Click for more )
Scripture Study “The Lord is near to the heartbroken. And He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin). Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But the Lord rescues him from them all. He keeps all his bones. Not one of them is broken.” - Psalm 34:18-20 (AMP) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “The Father loves the Son and has given and entrusted all things into His hand. The expression in quotes above made a striking impression on an ambulance driver and his assistant several years ago that they surely have never forgotten. I certainly haven’t! I was not there when it occurred, but I have never forgotten the story. Which story is true… A good friend of my deceased wife lived alone in a two-story apartment. She was in poor health, with several bodily afflictions which seemed to become steadily worse as the weeks and months passed by. Her health seemed to steadily worsen. An ambulance was called in the middle of a night to her ( Click for more )
That little word “if” rises again and again to question the obedience and disobedience of those who strive to remain faithful to God and their Savior. Even unto the time after Jesus came to earth, along with the Holy Spirit Who came to earth to strengthen those called out of sin and condemnation. That little word “if” places a conditional requirement on all humanity. Even those who are called and chosen for salvation. It can be said that all of humanity’s difficulties in living and existing can be summed up in one verse in the Bible. This verse ( Click for more )
Nations: Yesterday And Today After God sent the worldwide flood on the earth, there were only a few humans on the whole earth…only Noah and his family. After the waters subsided, He and his family began from that time to produce children. From that time until now, the earth has been covered with many peoples and therefore many nations have covered the earth again. “13Now it came about in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the water was dried up [g]from the earth. Then Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, ( Click for more )
Do you feel sometimes that you simply must have rest? Some Christians in their zeal for their calling to be Christians, become so committed that they are near collapse under their burden. They feel that they must work harder for Jesus, and perform more than they perceive themselves to be abe may come up short in the sight of God, as well as others. We must realize that it is the genuine Christian who needs rest the most. We as Christians need rest from our struggles to earn a living, and we also struggle to live a life that is pleasing to Christ. But our struggles are helped ( Click for more )
There was, long ago - whether real or a story I do not know - a king who had tried to conquer this country (whether real or just a story I do not know) by every means at his disposal…without success. For years he had attacked from every angle, every power and war machine he could muster….always, without success. The territory he desired to conquer could not be subdued by any means in his arsenal, by any trickery he could devise. Except for one… Eventually, someone (who I do not know) told him that he would never conquer that country. It was just too strong. ( Click for more )
Have you been dismayed and even frightened when seeing or hearing the news? Watching TV, or hearing about what is going on in the world can disturb our minds, disturbing our lives in many ways. But what should be our response when we hear of this mounting evil in the world? The Apostle Paul wrote Timothy concerning conditions that were beginning to steadily get worse in the world: “But evil men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced [holding ( Click for more )
Most of us seldom realize that our whole lives revolve around what we believe. If we do not believe that our automobile would get us to where we desire to go, we would at least have second thoughts as to what we need to do next. Some would just take the chance - and drive. Some would ponder the next step, the next best thing to do, and attempt to go, regardless of any doubts or hesitations. They ignore the odds. However, most would have considered the possible risks, and have accepted the risks, and plunge. They just drive. In a sense, they just plunge into somewhat of a blind ( Click for more )
