'Christ in You...'
by Dale Krebbs
There is a growing uneasiness in our world today. Even the Secretary General of the United Nations has said that "the world is falling apart". Satan is increasing conflicts in almost every arena of life; personal, public, worldwide. There has always been spurts, highs and lows, stair step levels of uneasiness - in our personal lives, in the church, in governments of the world. On a personal level, there is a kind of foreboding; a deep down feeling that somehow things are different, something is wrong, which cannot be identified or defined. Our world is changing so fast, ( Click for more )
"Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves]."- Philippians 2:3 (AMP) This verse is very difficult to swallow, if we are completely honest with ourselves. Every human mind on the planet naturally resists this verse, if they are honest. Antagonism, evil competitiveness, jealousy, ( Click for more )
Movie makers, book writers - fiction and true life stories - are fond of analyzing and telling the life of well known persons. Attempts have been made to tell Jesus Christ's life story, about how He walked the dusty roads of Palestine, and doing so, they infusing tension and drama that hopefully will produce a hit and produce a lot of money. However, the life story of a Christian - you and me - has been written in advance by one of the Biblical writers of the Bible. Your life story has been revealed to one of God's servants in advance, and is recorded in a few verses of a book of ( Click for more )
"There is always something to take the joy out of life!" This is a quote of my Mother many years ago after she had live into her 70's. And indeed it must have seemed so for her. She had many trials, including a broken back from an auto accident, breast cancer, along with much poverty along the way. However, she managed to age 88, lacking a few months living to age 89, Please pardon me as I quote another memory, along with the above that I cannot forget. It always gets a chuckle when mentioned to others. One of her favorite cliches' was: "I'm not afraid to die - ( Click for more )
Have you ever felt that you may said or done something, that could cause someone to stumble in their faith? When a Christian inadvertently causes someone to "stumble", the one who stumbles can often be saved from a fatal injury. But it is almost always difficult. There are usually so many issues at play, and as many variables as there are personalities. However, they can often be picked up gently, retrieved, repaired and saved from their fall. There is also a frightening statement by Jesus: " But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in and acknowledge ( Click for more )
There is a truth in the Bible that is so amazing, so exciting, and so staggering, and profound that when we think about it, it is almost unbelievable. This truth is hidden in many, if not most, english translations of the Bible. This truth however, is in the margins of some translations, in very small print, in italics. By doing this the translators were admitting that it is possible that it could be translated as indicated in the margin. However, most translators cannot bring themselves to entertain the idea that the margin should be the main text. Perhaps it seems presumptuous ( Click for more )
Do you believe God loves you? Some have experienced such trouble in life that they simply cannot believe that God loves them. But regardless of what has occurred in your life, no matter how many mistakes, bad luck, or circumstances you may have been born into without your having any say so in it, God loves you more than you can comprehend. Consider for a moment God's position down through eternity. He had and has, millions of angels who were created by Him surrounding Him. But other members of the Godhead - the Word who became Jesus, and the Holy Spirit who now represents Him in ( Click for more )
How often when speaking to someone do you embellish and exaggerate what you are saying, for effect? Regardless of what you are saying, important or unimportant, do you sometimes embellish for effect, wanting to impress or draw unnatural attention to yourself, making you feel good about yourself? Not long ago I wondered just how often I had done this, without realizing it. As I began to recall past conversations and visits with people in my life, I saw a flaw in my character. It did not look very pretty. Human nature had for a moment taken over while believing I should tell someone ( Click for more )
What has become of real, genuine, honest and loving relationships? Not only between Christians, but more importantly, between Christians and God. It has been lamented that so much of Christianity today is a matter of formula, ritual, method, and posturing, and preoccupation with objectives, projects, and financial goal orientation, and money driven. It becomes righteousness by the numbers. This was never meant to be so, and indeed was not so in the early church. Formulas stiffen relationship, and tend to push relationship into a mechanical performance. People tend to become logical ( Click for more )
It seems that in our modern society, there are certain ones that are - simply put - just forgotten. As the melting pot of the world, some categories of people become lost in all the shuffling. Some are even deemed to be expendable, unnecessary, in the way, or otherwise pushed into the background until they are hardly noticed, much less shown much concern. We still have the homeless which is a major shame in a country so rich, although they have received some publicity and help. There is another group of Americans that are, if not forgotten, at least ignored by many.. The elderly. ( Click for more )
"And those servants went out on the crossroads and got together as many as they found, both bad and good, so [the room in which] the wedding feast [was held] was filled with guests. But when the king came in to view the guests, he looked intently at a man there who had on no wedding garment. And he said, Friend, how did you come in here without putting on the [appropriate] wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, Tie him hand and foot, and throw him into the darkness outside; there will be weeping and grinding of teeth. For many are called ( Click for more )
Sometime in eternity past, God desired to expand His love, to someone in addition to millions of angels, who would be not unlike Himself.
He had angelic companionship, which was enjoyable and satisfying as His messengers and servants. However, being God, He desired something and someone like Himself - someone to love and from whom He could receive love and fellowship. He desired children. Those who would relate to Him on a higher level, and fellowship on the same level as Himself. There is some speculation as to why God ultimately decided to create a being in His own image and ( Click for more )

"The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance" - 2 Peter 3:9 Most everyone has heard of repentance at some time from someone in their lives. America as a nation is in dire need of something called repentance. If America is to repent, we must understand what repentance is, and be convinced that we all need it. But what is it, really? Your life is part of a puzzle. It is if you have submitted to Christ's purpose for your life. Jesus Christ is fitting, trimming, molding each piece to fit in a certain place, in a certain shape. You cannot know exactly what it will look like - it is known only to the Father and Jesus. Your piece of His puzzle will eventually be unique, complete, and perfect - and beautiful in every respect. You will fit together perfectly with other pieces and you will fit with other "puzzles" in a glorious tapestry in the image the perfect One. Jesus holds the pieces of His puzzle ( Click for more )
Music is a language. A universal language, given by the grace of God, spoken in many ways by many different peoples, in a thousands of ways. It is the voice of emotion, seeming sometimes to permeate the whole body. Music is a language of God. It is used by angels, and the human profane, the good , the bad, and the ugly. It is the voice of birds, even animals, even insects. It is often used to express profane and ungodly emotions unfortunately. Music conveys meanings, feelings, insights that no other language can transmit. Instrumental music can even drive away evil spirits: "And ( Click for more )
Simply confessing a sin does not necessarily mean we have repented of that sin. There are many who confess their sins in order to clear their conscience of guilt feelings. Confession clears the mind of the sin, but unless there is honest commitment to turn from the sin in genuine repentance, and to never commit that sin again, our confession may not be genuine. There is a subtle self deception which we can inflict upon ourselves regarding confession of sins. Honest confession of our sin cannot become unacceptable to God unless it carries with it something that we have already done. ( Click for more )

The Apostle Paul makes a dramatic statement when he says that "all Israel will be saved" (Romans 11:25-29). How can this be?
Millions of Jews have perished since Paul and Jesus walked the earth. And there were millions more who died prior to that time. They died most of the time as the result of rebellion against God, and were finally taken captive for the last time, subsequently being scattered throughout the earth.
During the times of Jesus and Paul, some of the writings of some of the Apostles were addressed to "those of the dispersion", that is, the Israelites ( Click for more )
There is a great reward waiting for you! If you had been notified that you had won the lottery, would you be excited, overcome with joy and anticipation, and anxious to receive it? Of course. Anyone would be. If you belong to Jesus Christ, there is something laid up for you, and waiting for you that pales into complete insignificance anything you can imagine.
It is God's good pleasure to give it to you. This reward will be given to you not on the basis of your good deeds (although there are also rewards or "wages" you can receive also...), but will be given to you on ( Click for more )
Would you like to live forever?
Not as you are now...subject to troubles, struggles, worries, pains, and difficulties with other problems in living...sickness, getting older, feelings of failure? If you are now a real Christian, your life has already been arranged, predestined, ordered, directed, guided. You are cared for, guarded, and provided for. You are beginning to know Him. And, more important, He knows you (Matthew 7:22-23). But IF you are not a believer in Jesus Christ, your life will continue as is. As the proverb says, "the more things change, the more they will ( Click for more )
Is the law of God "done away"? Many believe so. The statement is true, and, it is not true. Confusing?
Lets consider (Romans 7) The Apostle stated that the law came in, and he died. The penalty for breaking the law of God is death. Always has been. Always will be. If this is so, then "the law" cannot have been "done away". There is a very simple way to harmonize what seems to be an obvious contradiction. Yes, the law, i.e. the letter (written) of the law, when it is enforced will kill you and me, since the penalty is death, because there is no ( Click for more )
In our world today many couples who wear the badge "married" seem to be only friends, albeit good friends, or simply acquaintances. not showing love, kindness, and a caring attitude is almost the norm.
The marriage, if it is at least civil, is simply friends living together. A couple may be following the letter of the minimum requirements to be considered by the world as "married". But the spirit of a real marriage of love is missing. There is very little of a sacrificial attitude. The marriage is in reality only a shell.
It is simply marital legalism.

Choices Of Conscience Life is full of choices. We are pressed from every side it seems, by choices - choices about almost anything we can imagine.
The freedom enjoyed by many in the free world is labeled as freedom because freedom allows choices. Some of those freedoms are restricted by law; others are open ended. that is the freedom is only limited by the number of choices available. But there is one freedom that God gives us that is important for all Christians to understand - the freedom of conscience. Every human has been given by God a simple inner mechanism of a thing ( Click for more )
