Relationships of The Heart w/ Nancy

    by Nancy Watta

It's not always easy to move forward in tough times. I am sure many reading this from around the world, can attest to tough times in their life, prior to the global financial problems that exist today. You are the people that have learned in the fires of life, how to survive in tough times. As gold is purified in the fire you have a peace that many may not be experiencing. The words in Romans 5;1-5 are words that are no longer only words on a page, but speak to your life as an individual.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through…  ( Click for more )

With the happenings in todays world it is important that we continue to live in community with our sisters and brothers in Christ where ever God has placed us. It's not a time to draw back or a time to isolate when things get tough. God calls us to encourage one another. Ask yourself these questions- Who am I lifting up and encouraging today? Am I so focused on my own problems that I cannot see those who are struggling around me? It is in times like these that we need to be conscious of those around us and then act. We can send a few words of encouragement, send someone a card, or an…  ( Click for more )
Once Upon A Time there was a young woman who was 32 years old who one day became a single mom. She arrived in this single mom world, unprepared and lost, but with a small flame of hope in her heart. She had left behind abuse, an alcoholic husband, and was walking daily in pain. Yet, her one ray of hope that sprang forth daily was as a mom it was her job to protect her children. In the mess of the situation her decision was to leave and begin a new life. Her children are now adults and her new life continues today. …  ( Click for more )

Contrary to the world's way of thinking as a Christian there are times that going back is going forward. Do you remember Moses? God kept sending him back again and again to speak to Pharaoh and tell him, "Let my people go!" Can you imagine being in Moses shoes? He knew in advance that each time he returned to speak to Pharoah he was to speak the same words and his request would be denied. Yet, Moses was not abandoned by God! Eventually the time arrived and Pharaoh gave permission to Moses to take the people and go. I'll bet Moses may have been wiping his brow and sighing,…  ( Click for more )

Many of my hours are spent in a glassed in room also known as what we call in the Mid-West a 3 season room. When it is warm enough to venture out into this area I gather my latest writing project, teaching, or preaching preparation and set up my office in this area. This area is such a blessing to me as the sun pours in through the windows. For years I was a sales representative and spent daily time out and about whether the sun was shining, it was raining, snowing, hot or cold, whatever the weather, my job required me to spend time in and out of commercial buildings and driving through…  ( Click for more )

This is a looking back to our ice storm in 2008. In the last week we experienced a snow storm, ice, thunderstorms, and flooding. It is a time of coming together once again. God seems to use the weather to bring us together. Whether it is 2008 or 2014.

A week before Christmas a storm arrived in our City! The rain began and the temperature dropped which caused the rain to turn into ice and blanket our trees, homes, streets, cars and electrical lines. All things that we as American's take for granted stopped! Our electrical system across our city began to fall apart. The heavy ice…  ( Click for more )

In the 440 relay race there are four runners who are equally spaced around the track. The first runner starts with a baton in their hand. The objective is for the runner to place the baton into the hand of the next runner. The difficulty is that as they place the baton in the next runner’s hand they are still running and the receiver of the baton is also beginning to take off down the track at high speed. The best hand off is to a runner who does not look back at the approaching runner. They feel the smack of the baton in their hand as they are starting to run. Once the baton…  ( Click for more )

Waiting for the birth of a baby can seem as if the nine months will take forever. This is also a time of preparation as the family begins to adjust for the future arrival of the newborn baby. No matter how much a family plans in advance and how much love they have for the little one, once the baby arrives home adjustments begin to take place. Sleep schedules may change, meal times may be interupted, the first child who has always been easy going, may become a challenge as they find it is now necessary to share Mom and Dad. Yet, eventually as days go by, hopefully the family will settle…  ( Click for more )

There are times in our life when God challenges us with his word and may ask us the question; Do you really believe in your heart that what you read in my word is true? Are you willing to step out in faith and follow me into the unknown to serve me? Will you let go of what is old and grasp on to the new? Will you be willing to believe without seeing what is around the corner that I have your best interest in mind?

Without faith; But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek…  ( Click for more )

Lately as we read the world news we find that our world is in an unstable condition. Earthquakes, typhoons, tornados, thunderstorms, fires out of control, floods, famine, disease, and war. It seems to be everywhere. Yet, as christians we have a hope that goes beyond the current world circumstances. According to the world's way of thinking there is no hope. In the last 2 years I have sat in two business meetings and listened to the guest speakers use the words, "There is no hope." These words cut deeply into my heart as I thought of the discouragement that these men were…  ( Click for more )

Have you ever thought about the word community in a personal context? In a personal context the word community may bring thoughts to our minds according to our experience. For those who grew up in a small town or village this may bring to mind the entire town and it's various people. If we grew up in a large city this may bring to mind the thoughts of our activity in the community, not in the city as a whole, but within smaller groups and organizations. Community may bring to mind a group of friends that we spent time with in High School, our neighborhood, present or past.

If…  ( Click for more )
